Take a deep dive into rhythm in swing jazz. This course explores layers of musicality and history through classic steps from tap and jazz dance. Together, we’ll investigate creative, rhythm-driven variations while drawing inspiration from legendary solo jazz and tap pioneers.

Along the way, we’ll explore the roots of this art form by highlighting the contributions of influential African American women dancers and discussing the cultural and historical foundations of jazz dance. I’ll also share my personal approach to researching rhythm, jazz history, and the artists whose work continues to shape my practice.
