Levels
In this workshop, we will work on basic tap dance technique and vocabulary. We will build short phrases using fundamental rhythms and peek into improvisation. We will also explore the history and traditions of tap dance through a brief introduction.
If you don't own a pair of tap shoes no problem. Any shoes will do but leather soles are better for this class than sneakers.
In this two-hour workshop, we will focus on traditional tap dance vocabulary as well as improvisation. Together, we will explore grooves, phrasing, dynamics, and different ways of dancing with and around a melody. We will have time to explore new ideas and work with material we haven't yet covered in our regular classes.
