On January 11th and 25th, February 8th and 22nd we have 4 extra tap dance classes with Katja Nielsen. (55€)
After her musical theatre studies in singing, dancing, and acting in Berlin, Katja Nielsen has performed in musicals throughout Germany and on Tournee productions for musicals all over Europe. She was a member of the Renaissance theatre Berlin and Schmitz Tivoli Hamburg as well as part of the German musical cast of 42ndstreet. After leaving her active stage career she started a new chapter in teaching, first as a dance teacher for jazz and tap dance later as artistic director of “Opera Mobile”, a company that reinvented and dedusted operas for young ears and today she is mostly engaged in vocal projects such as the vocal trio “Stain Swingers” performing close harmonies from the 20ies 30ies and 40ies.
Katja also teaches music and musical theatre at the German school in Brussels, celebrates secular ceremonies as a wedding officiant and is hired for educational musical projects in Belgium and France. “Tap dance always had a very special place in my heart since it was a big part of my studies and also later on, I always loved the musicals with big tap dance numbers”. Tom Fletcher, Josh Hillman, Victor Cuno, Brenda Buffalino and the Belgium tap dancer Grégoire Vandersmissen were among those tap dancers who taught her not only the required technique but also the second very important component: the joy for the dance and rhythmical interpretation.
