About the teachers

Earanee Niedzwiecki

Earanee Niedzwiecki

Earanee Niedzwiecki

A lover of Satchmo (Louis Armstrong) and Nat King Cole since childhood, it was the swingin’ tunes that drew Earanee to her first Lindy Hop class in her hometown of Adelaide, Australia. Bitten by the jitterbug, Earanee soon began following her love of swing dance around the globe, and has since taught and competed across Australia, Europe and the US.

Nick Baeten

Nick Baeten

Nick Baeten

In a way Nick started dancing as an escape from daily life, where he was working as a youth counselor and graduating creative therapy classes. For years Nick wanted to dance LindyHop – and finally gave his life that spin.
Hyperactively he started taking courses, combining schools and going to social dances like a (hyperactive) maniac. Passing through-  projects popped up. Opportunities to train hard, teach, perform and compete came his way.
Learning Lindy Hop should be fun and has not a lot to do with multitude of complicated steps. Do what you feel, be dynamic and keep that flow. Unorthodox and theatrical… what did you expect?
Nick is part of the Brussels performance group Jazz Maniacs.

Maxime Lippert

Maxime Lippert

Maxime Lippert

Maxime began dancing Rock’n Roll at the age of 16 and never stopped since then. It was digging into old clips to find flashy moves that led him to discover jazz dances. The subtlety of Jazz music and the high energy of swing seduced him.
He is now part of Jazz Maniacs, a performance troupe in Brussels, which pushes him to dig further in authentic jazz dances. He is inspired by old-timers like Al & Leon, the Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers, etc.

Camille Truyffaut

Camille Truyffaut

Camille Truyffaut

After a few years dancing Rock n’ Roll, Camille fell completely in love with Lindy hop when she discovered a video of the famous clip from Hellzapoppin’.
The music, the rhythm, and the energy radiating from the dance immediately seduced her.
Since then she sought to learn everything she could, travelling to festivals and workshops abroad, in 2019 she starts teaching at Apollo Swing and is part of Brussels  troupe, the “Jazz Maniacs”.

Levels

Advanced – Invitational

Are you passionate about Lindy Hop and have you been dancing for at least 2 years, or are you working hard training and social dancing on a regular basis?
You will be invited by your teacher to join this level. For first-timers at Apollo Hop, we will be hosting an open audition for our advanced class, aimed at students who are looking to learn beyond new figures to focus more on rhythm, creativity, and concept classes that will help facilitate their own practice and development. To join this level, you should be highly motivated, comfortable mixing 6 and 8 count (hopefully you’re not thinking about them as separate counts anymore), have a strong grasp of Charleston repertoire, and should be starting to experiment with your own styling and expression.

We will work on a relaxed but crystal clear connection, but also look at more difficult moves with creative footwork, fun variations and cool combinations. This level will challenge you on rhythm and technique.

You can join this level for several sessions until you are recommended by your teacher to proceed to the next level.
