Our Teachers

Elise Moureau

Elise Moureau

Elise Moureau

Elise is the perfect example of how a delirious student becomes a teacher in Lindy Hop. She discovered Lindy Hop a few years before joining the Apollo Swing team in 2012. As an art historian, she has always been passionate about early 20th century art and design, as well as music, fashion, movies and theatre of that era. In order to evolve and discover new challenges, Elise has been taking classes at prestigious international workshops in different dance techniques. She is steadily evolving within a wide range of dances such as Solo Jazz, Charleston, Balboa, etc. and seeks inspiration from the mainstream professional dancers. Enthusiasm and passion are keywords in Elise’s curriculum.

Didier Loiseau

Didier Loiseau

Didier Loiseau

Since early in his childhood, Didier has been passionate about fashion, cars and of course dances from the 40’s and 50’s. His passion lead him to collect old records and to dress in vintage clothes. He discovered Lindy Hop in the late 90s and has been trained by big names the like of ’The Rhythm Hot Shots’ (Sweden), Steven Mitchell (USA), Frankie Manning (USA), etc. He trained abroad in major top festivals as well as in private training sessions. He introduced Lindy Hop in Belgium together with Geneviève, resulting in the creation of Apollo Swing dance school. Didier has been spreading his cheery disposition and sharing his talent for over twenty years in Lindy Hop classes in Belgium and on the dance floor. He remains as passionate as at the start of his career, is always on the lookout for novelties in this field and is constantly inspired by ‘The Ninjammerz’ (FR & USA) who are well-known for their unique dance style.

Helena Bosseloo

Helena Bosseloo

Helena Bosseloo

Helena started dancing at a very early age; she began with Ballet in kindergarten and acquired a real taste for dancing. She took dance courses in different styles. After winning a title in the Belgian Championship (funk/hip-hop) at age fifteen, Helena started teaching dance classes and designing choreography. For ten years she taught in different disciplines (jazz dance, street dance, oriental dance, dance theatre) and always managed to creatively incorporate influences from flamenco, tap dance, body drumming, Bollywood, African dance, capoeira, break dance, tango and contemporary dance.
After leaving dance for a couple of years, Lindy Hop ignited her fire for dancing again. Not only the cheerful way of dancing, but also the complete setting, style and atmosphere from the days of yore make her heart pound.

Bart De Vuyst

Bart De Vuyst

Bart De Vuyst

Bart De Vuyst discovered Lindy Hop and became fascinated by the energetic moves and exciting music. He likes the large choice of steps and variations within the dance. Bart is a huge music fan and – in a distant past – used to be a musician.

Céline Antoine

Céline Antoine

Céline Antoine

Céline has attended many dance classes in her youth, ranging from tap dancing, classical, modern, to ballroom dancing. She is a huge fan of dances and music from Hollywood musicals from the 30s and 40s. Her wide spectrum of interests could only lead to her discovering Lindy Hop. Now that she is hooked, she can never have enough of the positive energy and the infectious high spirited mood within the Lindy Hop community. You can count on her to share her passion for Lindy Hop with enthusiasm and kindness.

Julien Taymans

Julien Taymans

Julien Taymans

Julien discovered Lindy Hop through his love for jazz. He has been training assiduously with the Apollo Swing Team for the past two years and regularly attends workshops. He will be in a good position as a teacher to help beginners in the Lindy Hop adventure.

Laura Verstraeten

Laura Verstraeten

Laura Verstraeten

Laura unexpectedly discovered Lindy Hop in Spain, in 2010.
She quickly fell in love with this dance and the world of swing because of the joyfulness it conveys.
Laura is 28, is originally from Brussels and has recently qualified as a general practitioner. She finds enough time to enjoy revitalising swinging sessions.

Sander Costermans

Sander Costermans

Sander Costermans

When Sander reached sixteen, his interests veered towards jazz/swing as well as the thirties and forties styles. After much hesitation, he finally registered for Lindy Hop classes in Leuven in September 2015 and his life underwent a complete transformation. He has never learned any other dance, but Lindy Hop has taken the best of him. Dancing at least five times a week in Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven, Hasselt and anywhere else in-between. Dancing became a passion that he wouldn’t miss for anything. He is looking forward to share his passion with new and somewhat more accomplished dancers! Where he might lack in experience he certainly makes up in enthusiasm!

Lynn Gastmans

Lynn Gastmans

Lynn Gastmans

Dancing, as far as she can remember, has always been her favourite energy outlet. From Hip-hop to Tango, she came to Lindy Hop during a trip to Poland. The foretaste she got from it led to six full months of intense learning. Her taste for it subsided once back from her trip and it was only natural to arrive at “home” at Didier and Elise’s. Their dancing conveys so much pleasure and humour that it is impossible to stand still. She hopes to be able to transmit those qualities as well as the virus of Lindy Hop to eager groups.
