Our Teachers

Elise Moureau

Elise Moureau

Elise Moureau

Elise is the perfect example of how a delirious student becomes a teacher in Lindy Hop. She discovered Lindy Hop a few years before joining the Apollo Swing team in 2012. As an art historian, she has always been passionate about early 20th century art and design, as well as music, fashion, movies and theatre of that era. In order to evolve and discover new challenges, Elise has been taking classes at prestigious international workshops in different dance techniques. She is steadily evolving within a wide range of dances such as Solo Jazz, Charleston, Balboa, etc. and seeks inspiration from the mainstream professional dancers. Enthusiasm and passion are keywords in Elise’s curriculum.

Didier Loiseau

Didier Loiseau

Didier Loiseau

Since early in his childhood, Didier has been passionate about fashion, cars and of course dances from the 40’s and 50’s. His passion lead him to collect old records and to dress in vintage clothes. He discovered Lindy Hop in the late 90s and has been trained by big names the like of ’The Rhythm Hot Shots’ (Sweden), Steven Mitchell (USA), Frankie Manning (USA), etc. He trained abroad in major top festivals as well as in private training sessions. He introduced Lindy Hop in Belgium together with Geneviève, resulting in the creation of Apollo Swing dance school. Didier has been spreading his cheery disposition and sharing his talent for over twenty years in Lindy Hop classes in Belgium and on the dance floor. He remains as passionate as at the start of his career, is always on the lookout for novelties in this field and is constantly inspired by ‘The Ninjammerz’ (FR & USA) who are well-known for their unique dance style.

Helena Bosseloo

Helena Bosseloo

Helena Bosseloo

Helena started dancing at a very early age; she began with Ballet in kindergarten and acquired a real taste for dancing. She took dance courses in different styles. After winning a title in the Belgian Championship (funk/hip-hop) at age fifteen, Helena started teaching dance classes and designing choreography. For ten years she taught in different disciplines (jazz dance, street dance, oriental dance, dance theatre) and always managed to creatively incorporate influences from flamenco, tap dance, body drumming, Bollywood, African dance, capoeira, break dance, tango and contemporary dance.
After leaving dance for a couple of years, Lindy Hop ignited her fire for dancing again. Not only the cheerful way of dancing, but also the complete setting, style and atmosphere from the days of yore make her heart pound.

Sander Costermans

Sander Costermans

Sander Costermans

Ever since Sander was a teenager, he was very interested in jazz and the style from the swing era. He started dancing because he just couldn’t sit still when listening to music. He’s part of the Jazz Maniacs and the Old Soulz performance crews in Brussels, which have given him the opportunity to perform at events in the country and abroad. The authentic style is what he tries to recreate, but he likes to put in his own character as well. His goal in teaching people lindy hop, is to enable them to dance comfortably with anyone they happen to meet, and enjoy themselves when they go out dancing.

Aisha Vits

Aisha Vits

Aisha Vits

Aïsha was instantly taken by the swinging ‘50 and ’60 in all their aspects: music, fashion, furniture. She started collecting LP’s of Billie Holiday, Chuck Berry, Jimmie Lunceford, Miles Davis and other such jazzy icons. She started sewing her own ’50 style clothes from very early on. Lindy Hop started being on her radar and after some hesitation she finally registered in September 2016. Intensive parties and workshops convinced her that her enthusiasm for Lindy Hop had to be further conveyed. If it makes her happy, it will make everyone else happy.

Aurore Pallares

Aurore Pallares

Aurore Pallares

She discovered swing music and dance in Paris in 2009. Her schooling rests essentially on intensive training in Lindy Hop techniques, followed by Balboa with Easy Swing. It is through her travels, attending major and minor swing dance events in many parts of the world, that Aurore started teaching and perfecting her training through social and evening dance occasions. She taught at Easy Swing between 2011 and 2013. Aurore is much appreciated by the students because of her benevolence and energy and her commitment to help them; not the least her humorous trait with which she punctuates classes.

Nick Baeten

Nick Baeten

Nick Baeten

In a way Nick started dancing as an escape from daily life, where he was working as a youth counselor and graduating creative therapy classes. For years Nick wanted to dance LindyHop – and finally gave his life that spin. Hyperactively he started taking courses, combining schools and going to social dances like a (hyperactive) maniac. Passing through-  projects popped up. Opportunities to train hard, teach, perform and compete came his way. Learning LindyHop should be fun and has not a lot to do with multitude of complicated steps. Do what you feel, be dynamic and keep that flow. Unorthodox and theatrical… what did you expect?

Dean Jamees

Dean Jamees

Dean Jamees

Dean Started dancing Lindy Hop in 2014 and has practised with Apollo Swing in Leuven and Hasselt. What began as a hobby turned into a passion. He’s experienced in teaching people how to move their body in function of sports. Combined with his enthusiasm and love for music , he’ll teach anyone how to do the Lindy Hop!

Boris Rueckert

Boris Rueckert

Boris Rueckert

Boris began dancing Lindy Hop as an Apollo student in 2014. What started out as a hobby quickly became the center of his social live and his source of positive energy. Today, he frequently participates in international festivals to push his dancing further and he is eager to pass on his knowledge and experience.
